  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and vanilla extract.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  7. In a separate bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and nuts for the streusel topping.
  8. Spread half of the batter in a greased cake pan, sprinkle half of the streusel mixture on top.
  9. Add the remaining batter and finish with the remaining streusel topping.
  10. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
