This Million Dollar Baked Ziti is a rich and satisfying twist on traditional baked pasta, perfect for gatherings and family dinners.

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with chopped onion and minced garlic.
  4. Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian seasoning; simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese with salt and pepper.
  6. Combine the cooked ziti with the meat sauce and ricotta mixture.
  7. Layer half of the pasta mixture in a baking dish, then add half of the mozzarella and parmesan cheeses.
  8. Repeat layers with the remaining pasta and cheeses.
  9. Bake for 30-40 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some crushed red pepper flakes to the meat sauce.
  • Let the baked ziti rest for 10 minutes before serving for easier slicing.
