  • 1 whole turkey (12-14 pounds)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary
  • 2 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and rosemary.
  3. Pat the turkey dry and rub the butter mixture under the skin and all over the turkey.
  4. Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
  5. Cover the turkey with aluminum foil and roast for 2.5 hours.
  6. Remove the foil and roast for an additional 30-45 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.
