A delicious twist on traditional stroganoff with spicy blackened shrimp.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons blackening seasoning
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a bowl, toss shrimp with blackening seasoning.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Add shrimp and cook until blackened, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add onion and garlic to the same skillet; sauté until translucent.
  6. Add mushrooms; cook until soft.
  7. Stir in cream, Dijon mustard, chicken broth, and Worcestershire sauce; simmer until thickened.
  8. Return shrimp to the skillet; mix to combine.
  9. Serve over egg noodles topped with parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to substitute shrimp with chicken or tofu for a different protein.
  • Adjust the level of blackening seasoning based on your spice preference.
